Setup Guide
From download to your first duel.
DuelBot requires Minecraft 1.8.9, Forge 11.15.1.2318, and the Essential mod. These are listed in the requirements below.
Requirements
Installation
Install Forge
Download and install Minecraft Forge 11.15.1.2318 for Minecraft 1.8.9. Run the installer, select "Install Client", and create a new Forge profile in the Minecraft launcher.
Install Essential
Download Essential for Minecraft 1.8.9 and place the Essential.jar into your .minecraft/mods/ folder. Essential provides the config GUI that DuelBot uses.
Get DuelBot
Join the DuelBot Discord. For testers: download the latest .jar from #versions. For buyers: purchase a key and run /redeem in the bot commands channel (coming early July). You'll get the DuelBot role and access to #versions where the latest JAR is posted.
Drop in mods/
Place DuelBot.jar (28KB) into your .minecraft/mods/ folder alongside Essential. Your folder should look like:

Launch Minecraft
Select the Forge profile in your Minecraft launcher and launch. The Essential splash screen should appear, followed by the main menu. DuelBot runs silently in the background.
Open Config
Press RShift or type /duelbot in chat. The config GUI will open. Select your bot mode (Sumo, Classic, Boxing, Combo, OP, Blitz, Bow, or ClassicV2) and adjust any settings. Default settings work for most modes.
Start Bot
Join a Hypixel Duels lobby, then press ; (semicolon) to start. The bot will automatically queue, detect opponents, and fight. Press ; again to stop.

Troubleshooting
Mod doesn't show up+
Make sure both Essential.jar and DuelBot.jar are in the correct .minecraft/mods/ folder. Check the Minecraft launcher shows the "Forge" profile (not vanilla). Disable other mods that might conflict (OptiFine is fine, but avoid other PvP mods with similar features).
Config GUI doesn't open+
Essential mod is required for the config GUI. Make sure Essential.jar is installed and you're using the Forge profile. If RShift doesn't work, try /duelbot in chat instead.
Bot won't start+
You must be in a Hypixel Duels lobby or game. The bot won't start in singleplayer or other servers. Check that your selected bot mode matches the duel type you're queueing for. If the issue persists, try restarting Minecraft.
Essential mod conflicts with other mods+
Essential can conflict with other mods that modify the GUI or keybind system. Try removing any mods that add custom HUDs, mod menus, or keybind managers. DuelBot is tested with OptiFine and vanilla Forge only.
Bot stopped responding+
DuelBot has built-in safe-mode detection. If the bot encounters unexpected behavior, it will disable itself and log the error. Press ; to manually stop and restart. If this happens repeatedly, the developer may need to push a fix.
How do I update?+
Download the latest .jar from #versions in the Discord, replace the old DuelBot.jar in your mods/ folder, and restart Minecraft. Your config settings are preserved between updates.
